The Malaise Update will hit consoles in February it is currently available on PC. Update 21, the Malaise Update, changed the way the late game mechanics work entirely. Previous recent updates have included bringing six new mobs, massive systematic updates and the much-requested backpack, several new biomes, dozens of distinct (and mostly deranged) new enemies, and a variety of badass weaponry to help you not die as much. The first paid downloadable content, “The Bad Seed,” dropped last year for the same price of $4.99. The developers have kept a steady flow of free content on tap for its loyal community across all platforms for the past 30 months. “Fatal Falls” marks the second paid downloadable content drop for the 2018 Game of the Year winning Dead Cells. And because we want you to feel good AND look good, a total of 10 new outfits have also been added to the update. Each one will help you in different areas of the two new biomes. Seven new weapons in total have arrived: Lightning Rods, Ferryman’s Lantern, Scarecrow’s Sickles, Iron Staff, Snake Fangs, Serenade, and Cocoon. FATAL FALLS DLC - New biomes, new monsters, new boss, new weapons and items Of course, if you'd like to see what's new, simply update the game, and if you're itching to check out the new. Sickles, undoubtedly one of the more iconic weapons in existence, have also been added-they are attracted to enemies and will follow you around a bit. It offered me about ten hours of fun and helped me get plugged back into a fun game.Along the new paths fans can expect to encounter a cute but deadly pet sword and deranged enemies like the Myopic Crow, the Clumsy Swordsman, the Compulsive Gravedigger, and a lot more (eight total) culminating with the final boss, The Scarecrow.Īnd what’s an update without new weapons? “Fatal Falls'” new maniacal sword (did we mention it flies?) is designed to bring Brutality players a real counterpart to the Great Owl and Mushroom Boi. It is only $4.99 for two large, fun exploration stages and tons of new ways to play the game. Overall, should you buy this DLC? Absolutely! Sickles are not some speed melee weapon, but instead some rotating skill that does damage around the player. The weapons from this DLC are also a little underwhelming. The Scarecrow will bounce around their tiny arena and try and hit the player, however, for the most part, they are never aiming directly at the player, unlike most of the bosses in the game, making their attack quite easy to dodge. Explore floating shrines, infiltrate the lair of an outlawed secret. The two new exploration stages are so great, reigniting my enjoyment for the game, and then the boss section drags my hype back down to Earth. Try not to fall as you wind your way along the sheer cliffs of the islands coast. Dead Cells as a whole struggles with boss fights, which is unfortunate because the exploration sections of the game are so great, and the DLC is no exception.
